At my local fish store there is a display tank with a dozen ocellaris clowns . I didn’t realize you could keep that many in a tank . I just have a pair in a 150gal
Hey, everyone!
I would like to share my journey breeding Ocellaris clownfish that I have had in the last 5 years.
This experience was my first time doing this so, you can imagine how much research and videos I watched to try to get it right. In this article, I’m going to explain what I did to...
So Monday I went to Petco and they were having a sale. I bought what was left which were 3 Ocellaris & 2 Maroons. Strangely, the largest Maroon was in the tank with an Ocellaris and the other ones were all alone. Once home, one Ocellaris didn’t make it so I have 2 Maroon and 2 Ocellaris. Now...
After walking the dog I decided to look at my tank to find that my orange ocellaris has this white line on the side of its head/body. I can't tell if it's a wound or just the mucus layer, but it's active and eating. All water parameters are good and there are no aggressive tank mates unless my...
I just got this pair of clowns. (Pics because I love them) they're the first fish in my first reef tank. I don't like the idea of them basically being homeless and I want to get them a nem ASAP. (I understand they don't need it but I want to give them one) When's the soonest I can add one?
I feel like the answer is probably a hard no, but I’m throwing out the question anyway. If I have a fully mature longfin domino ocellaris, and I add a baby-baby bicinctus, is there a potential for pair up? Or is it more likely that one will still inevitably kill the other?
For context, right...
Hey I have 2 Ocellaris clownfish in a 150 gallon fowlr tank. I noticed when I got home that my biggest clownfish has this red “sore” on the side of her mouth. I’m not sure if it’s a wound from the other fish. Or if it is a bacterial infection or what. I tried to get some decent pictures, i...
I have an amazing colorado sunburst bta... and my clownfish couldn't care less. Will it burn their retinas if they get close to it since it's so bright?
I am interested in seing what all your clownfish decided to host, or not host. Feel free to post your favorite pictures.

Hi guys
just picked up this little guy this afternoon and was labelled as a percula, I have my doubts and am thinking that it could be a ocellaris.
I liked him because of the unusual broken stripe in the middle so am happy with my purchase either way but just interested on what you guys think.
Have a bonded pair of Ocellaris clownfish for sale. Female is 2 inches and male is an inch. They were kept in a 14 gallon cube, and bonded within 3 days, female is a year and male is a 6-8 month old. Located in Hesperia.
Hello, Reefers!
I was asked to introduce my tank by the admins so here goes... (thanks for the add, looking forward to reading you and learning more, I've been learning a lot from you in silence till now).

Hello, I am new to the hobby and just wanted to share the new clownfish I just got today! I got a black ice and an ocellaris and they are already swimming with each other and getting along well in QT with my Banggai Cardinalfish that I got a few weeks ago. Let me know if you have any tips/advice...
Hello guys,
I got a pair of Clowns from an LFS about 5 days ago.
They were looking quite healthy and came from the same tank ( there are probably 100 of them in there).
Both ocellaris , larger black one and smaller orange one.
Since I got them the black one was attacking the smaller one into...
Hi there!
Over this passed week, my larger clownfish, Amphitrite, has been picking on my smaller clownfish, Poseidon. Because of this, Poseidon started to hide within the coral and in a little cave in the tank. I kept an eye on him to make sure he wasn’t getting too beat up and researched a bit...
Hello there!
My wife and I are expecting our first child in the beginning of March and we've decided to turn an old Coralife Biocube 14 a friend gave me into his first tank and night light for the nursery. I have had several FOWLR tanks over the years (including a LED Biocube 32 currently in my...
So guys!
Yesterday (10/10) I stopped by my LFS and while choosing some frags (acan & gsp) decided to take the plunge and get myself a nice green bubble tip anemone. I had previously picked up two clowns about two months ago and they’ve been doing really good.
After getting home and acclimating...
Hey another question, definitely have an emergency on my hands and need to know what to do ASAP. As much input as I can get would be appreciated. I have a 29 gallon tank about 3 months old housing two ocellaris clowns and a bunch of mushroom corals. 3 days ago we added some new tank mates 4...
Hello just messaging from the Arizona area, looking for some input. I’m fairly new to the world of saltwater aquarium care and could really use some advise. We have a 29 gallon tank about 3 months old housing two ocellaris clowns and a beautiful bunch of mushroom corals who have been doing...
After posting about my refugium over in the macroalgae forum I decided why not post up my whole build progression while I'm at it.
First off, I suppose this would be considered a budget build by most standards, and/or DIY, nearly everything was repurposed from old builds during my last foray in...
Hi!
My name is Rosie, I'm a paramedic student. I have a golden retriever named peanut.
I've had freshwater tanks/fish in the past, but ever since I lived in Okinawa, Japan I've wanted a saltwater tank. Until now it has been out of my price range. I just started a 'nano' reef tank. It currently...
Sorry this is kind of a long question..
I’m new to saltwater tanks so bare with me.
I have a 30 gallon tank and right now I have a perc clown and an ocellaris. The perc was in the tank first and I added the ocellaris about 3 weeks after. This was about 2 months ago. The perc is quite a bit...
