new 36

Hello all, I currently was gifted a 36 gal bowfront tank with stand. I do not have plumbing holes for a sump and I am too nervous to even attempt to create plumbing holes. What equipment should I then lean towards for filtration/skimming, etc. HOB I would assume however, being new to this...
