hard algae

Hello fellow saltines, I don't seem to have a problem with algae in my tank but this hard, green stuff has started appearing on my glass. I'm assuming it's algae. I tried scraping it off with an old credit card but it's really stuck on. Do I need something with a sharper edge? Is there another...
