    Fungia Plate right?

Well I couldn't pass this one up for $100. I may have underestimated how big it was for the tank it was going in. Its been 24hrs now. Feeding response was good this morning. I forgot what the owner said but I'm pretty sure this is some sort of fungai plate coral.

What species of plate coral is this?

Went to my lfs and picked up this guy today. It looked flat in the lfs but now at home after lights out and deflated it looks like theres a bump in the middle. Wondering which species is this. Collected in Sabah, Malaysia. Slight concaved bottom and hump at mouth. Guessing its a cycloseris? Do...

Fungia will only open at night

I bought a fungia a few days ago, and since I put it into my tank, it will only open in the evening when the lights are turning off or completely off. It was opened up in the LFS, and I tried moving it to a shaded spot to see if too much light was the issue but it made no difference. Anyone know...

Raising Baby Plate Corals from the dead

Looking for any advice on raising the babies that come from a dead fungia plate coral. I have added a picture below. I was given a mostly dead Orange plate coral to try and save (from a buddy) and it didn’t last long. I tossed it in the back of my tank almost a year ago and it started sprouting...

Fungia plate Coral with exposed skeletal ridges

Looking for advice on my Fungia! I’ve had it for more than a year with plenty of growth and no problems. A few days ago I had to move her slightly in the tank (like a couple inches) and ever since then she’s been deteriorating fast. Parts of the skeletal ridge is showing and the tissue is...

    LPS ID Help needed

Bought this at a market in Bangkok. Assumed it was Fungia but its attached to the frag plug with about a cm tall trunk. This surprised me as I had thought Fungia are free-roaming. It is about 4cm wide. Could it be a juvenile stage Fungia? Also, please ignore the bubble algae. Am working out a...
