Hi all, I’m going to be ordering new frag plugs and was curious to everyone’s preference on color and material. Anecdotally, the black ones are said to help reduce algal growth, so also curious to hear if anyone has experience with this.

I decided I wanted to grow my different types of Zoas in a way that was easy to move around or even change tanks as I've had plenty of fish have the taste for them in the past.
Center plug is large enough to drop in a 3/4" frag plug. Chose that size as...
I am not taking credit for this. I found a comment from a member in another thread that mentioned this tip I can't find it again to give that member(s) credit and because it was buried so deep in the thread I thought I would give it a thread all of its own.

Acclamating my sps frags has been a hassle with the random plugs the sellers send me. some have long stocks (not sure what to call them) and can withstand strong flow, some will be blown off, some have none at all, not to mention those that fall off during transit. starting them on the sand and...
Hello all, I’m new to reefing and I have started off my journey with a Red Sea Max Nano, all is going very well!
I bought my first coral yesterday which is the torch you can see in the photos, I think it’s happy?

Hi Experts, the frag plugs are good in placing/holding the frags in place on the rocks in the tank but in many cases it doesn't enhance the beauty of corals growing naturally on those rocks (this is my personal view only). Is it a good or bad practice to always remove the frag from the plug and...
I’m about to get some pulsing Xenia that’s loose. How the heck do I attach it to a plug or rock or whatever? Not sure about the size of the frag I’m getting.
I had a few ugly old frag plugs laying around so I wiped some superglue across the tops and left them in a tub of crushed coral. These frag plugs are from corals I glued to them falling off while in my frag tank.
It looks like it's given me great adhesion with zoanthids which I usually have...
Hi I just wanted to share my progress with dipping a zoa frag plug in hydrogen peroxide 3%. Never done it a so a little nervous.... So I bought a gmk a couple of months ago and hair algae grew on the plug so I used a toothbrush and removed what I could by hand but it keeps coming back so I...
I've been designing some modular frag plugs that have removable attachment points. These can be printed in PLA or ABS which I've read are safe for salt water. I haven't seen very many designs out there for 3D printed plugs. Is there a reason people aren't using 3D printed plugs?
So I've been yelling at my tank a lot...or rather whoever keeps moving my frags around! Every day when we're on our way home, my husband and I play a little game of "guess how many corals got flipped onto the sand". It's driving me a little bit batty.
I got some loctite gel superglue and the...
