The Rubricaudalis Flasher Wrasse is a stunning and active marine fish prized for its vivid coloration and dynamic display behavior. Males are particularly colorful, showcasing bright shades of red, blue, and yellow, especially when "flashing" to attract mates or assert dominance. These wrasses...
Hey all,
Does anyone know the difference between the bells flasher wrasse from Indonesia and marshal islands? Did a google search but couldn’t find any information.
Thinking of adding a few supermale wrasses (Madagascar Flasher) together into a 300g FOWLR at the same time. I know typically I would add a M/F pair together, but thoughts of adding say 3 or 4 males together simultaneously in this size tank?
Thanks!
McCosker's Wrasses are very straightforward to keep. As long as you have a stable aquarium with parameters that you are very used to hearing about, they'll be fine. The big three values should be close to these: SG - 1.024 (+/-.002), pH – 8.0 (=/-.2) and temperature should be in the mid 70s...
The male Diamond-Tail Flasher Wrasse is an extremely colorful fish that is not commonly seen in the trade. They are known for their vibrant colors, stunning displays, and peaceful nature. The males are known for ‘flashing’ their bright colors when courting a female, which is a remarkable display...
Today, we present to you the hyper-rare and jaw-dropping beautiful Mauritius Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus hemitaeniatus), a Holy Grail Wrasse if there ever was one. Only a few specimens of this fish have ever made it into the Americas, and not many more have ever been in captivity anywhere...
I got this fish from LFS labelled only as flasher wrasse. Can anyone help me ID this flasher wrasse, and identify if its a female or male?
The wrasse is atleast 1.5 inch at the moment. Thank you in advance
i have an infamous 20 gal cube with a flasher wrasse(temporarily i promise, and he is healthy with good weight and no deformity), a mandarin dragonet and a masked goby. could i add another fish like a small blenny(tail spot, two spot, pictus), shrimp goby(randall, yasha, yellow)or a spriger...
Hello everyone! I have heard very mixed opinions on flasher wrasses in 20g tanks. Some people say it's totally fine and do so with seemingly happy and healthy wrasses, while I've seen others say that these active fish need tanks of at least 55g. I'm curious as to what you all think? I'd love to...

Hey guys! I’ve been lurking on r2r for awhile now and this is my first time posting here. I was wondering whether or not a McCoskers flasher wrasse would be compatible/fine in a 20 long? I’ve done a lot of research on this topic up to this point as it is my dream fish and I understand that while...

I am picking up my very first wrasse this week. I have a 20 gallon QT tank set up but I have some questions.
I understand wrasse are sensitive to some chemicals. In the past I've used Prazipro and Cupprasafe. Are there ok? Should I skip them and just do an observation QT?
If I use egg crate to...
Hello all. I recently got a McCosker Flasher Wrasse that looks like it might have some fin rot. I have never seen fin rot like. It puzzles me quite a bit. He is still eating. I gave him some pellets this morning and gave him some mysis after I got home. He ate both times. He is swimming out in...
I've had this flasher wrasse in QT for 4 days now. I haven't added anything for treatment. Ammonia is at 0. He's got a white protruding "crown" on his head that I didn't notice when I placed him in. Any ideas as to what this is?
He had a pretty stressful transit, got caught in weather and was...
Introduction
My name is Hunter and I am a wrasse addict. Admitting such is the first step to buying another wrasse, I think. Wrasses are not only my passion, but my niche in this hobby since 2010. My tank is full of them, and unfortunately “regular” species are no longer exciting enough for...
