This has gotten so bad to the point of reducing my tanks visibility to < 3" and is starting to take a toll on my mainly photosynthetic corals

I’ve had this guy for just under a month i believe and I’m worried about him. Just in the last few days his tissue seems like it’s retracting, I’m worried hes not looking good. What do you guys think? I got him some phytoplankton but I’m not sure how to tell if he’s eating
Do Lima shrimps require Lima clams to live? I was thinking about getting a pair for my nano tank, but wasn't sure if they needed a clam to live... I'd rather not keep a flame scallop since they have a bad track record of success.
