euro bracing

Hello! I am in the process of fixing up an old second hand tank, the dimensions are 120 l × 39.5 w × 54 h (in cm) with 8mm glass thickness. Along with just being beat up and ugly, the top rim had for some reason white silicone and metallic putty on it, both entirely not aquarium safe material...

I purchased a used 100g tank that needs resealed which shouldn't be a big deal. It has euro bracing on the top and some sort of extra glass border around the inside of the bottom,that I think is just there to protect the corners down there. Since I don't know what it is called it's hard to...
