What I thought were Diatoms turned out to be Dinos on most of substrate and tank walls. I bought a microscope to verify. Photos and video are attached.
These were my parameters last night Before I dosed Phosphate per some research cause they were bottomed out.

I got back into the hobby about 1.5 years ago. I've been battling Dinos for almost 6 months. When they first appeared I ended up dosing Dino x which got rid of them after about 12 doses (every other day). It wiped out all my corals in the process. After a few weeks I started getting loads of...
I’ve been battling Dinos for about 9 months in two reef tanks: 13.5 gallon LPS 2 years old and 40 gallon mixed 1 year old. In the 13.5 just prior to the outbreak I had used Vibrant which I believe crashed my nutrient levels after rocking my barely established bio filter and eliminating the small...
Just started dosing phosphate, and will begin dino X tonight as I believe its dino algae? Battling few months now, and tried feeding heavier, lowering phosphates originally with GFO, and manual removal. Covering all rocks and coral ATM, so at this point it's time for dino x.
Hanna phosphates...
Hi everyone
My tank has a Dino issue currently. They are brown stringy slime on the sand bed. I don’t have a skimmer in my tank. Can I still use Dino X to get rid of these dinos?
attaching pics. Will it hurt my corals?
How many hours should I run my lights?
curently running total 12 hrs with...
About a month ago I determined I had a Dino outbreak. Started using Dino X and now after 6 doses my Dino is fading, but now there’s a thick maroon algae building up. I believe it’s cyano. Has anyone had this experience?
So I had a green hair algae outbreak, then an ammonia spike, I dosed kordon AmQuelPlus ammonia detoxifier, it kills ammonia nitrite and nitrate, and chlorine. Things started to bounce back. I lost 2 cyphastrea, and a birdsnest, during that ammonia spike, it went to 0.50ppm. my xenia has been...
Can anybody help. New to here and tank around 9 months old. Had an algae outbreak. Not the best pics but starting to stand up with air bubbles on the tips. More brown/orange under whites. Goes away over night nearly completely and then back when lights on. Running 5 hours blue and 2 hours white...
When using Dino x, do you run the skimmer or no? I have heard to run it wet, but on the bottle says nothing about skimming. Only shut off UV, remove carbon and remove and phosphate reducers.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts/opinions.
