Just wondering if anyone had the name to this bouncing hairy mushroom or if I found a rare one from a random LFS. Either way 6-7 inches across. And this is mostly white light on it at the moment. Under kessils when I bought it there was a lot more blue on the tips. The blue hairy mushroom under...
Good evening all. I purchased this coral a few years back and I have not been able to ID this LPS( the orange one in the middle). It’s not an Acan, Bower, or Welso to my knowledge, but I could be wrong. The flesh is thin compared to any of those. I also had well defined separate polyps. I love...
Hi,
Please can somebody help me identify this coral please?
I got this frag for free from the LFS I work in, it was donated to me by a customer who was also unsure what it was.
It is approximately 1cm in diameter, it is flat (about 1mm in height), formed of what look like tiny orange...
Hi all. I'm very excited to be part of the reefing community. I'm an absolute beginner, and I really appreciate the fact that I have access to a plethora of information on this site.
This has by far been the most rewarding endeavor I've attempted. And I'm sure many more sweaty nights are to...
Found this guy in a lfs. Looks like a ton of baby lps heads but apparently it was encrusting a rock. The person working told me it could be a goniopora but I would like to know what you all think.
Hello, I know there are many websites to find zoanthid ID but I have been searching for about 1 year without good results. Some people suggested it might be a Pandora or Chiquita but it doesn't fit very well. I know the name is not much important but after spending a lot of time on searching the...
Anyone know what this coral is? I picked it up two days ago from my LFS. I asked if they knew what it was. Two people looked at it and both did not know.
Seems to be encrusting. Many tiny polyps coming off of the coral. Yellow in color with bright pink mouths.
Thanks!
Bought this from my LFS and he orders and pays by the size of the coral and not the name. So he just got this as an Acropora sp.
But what species do you think this is? 2 pictures are what it looks like now after shipping, so it lost alot of color. And one picture is before shipping.
I just received this beautiful chalice from a guy on eBay. It was labeled as an "Easter Bunny" chalice. Of course there are all made up names for these things so I didn't expect to find much information on this particular variety ( which I didn't, LOL)
My question is has anyone seen anything...
Could I get some help IDing these please?
This one seems to be Acropora but idk what type
This one seems to be a birdsnest I think but also I don't know what type
any input would help a lot! thanks!
I have had this coral for about a year now. Just kinda want to confirm if its a Lithophyllon. The reason I am asking for this is that I have a dead Plate coral, just the skeleton and I am thinking of transplanting a frag of these on to that skeleton just to see how it would grow.
I have a 75 gallon mixed reef tank and as much as I try to remember the many corals I have in my tank, I just can’t remember them all so when it comes to researching, I get lost.
I’ll post pics of my full tank and the. Individual pics of my coral and their subsequent placement. All help is...
Picked this up at my LFS and they didn’t know (even though a quite knowledgeable LFS). Closest looks like an astreopora to me given the purple body (quite purple under whites) and spaced apart green polyps…. I have the linked astreopora in my tank so it is definitely not that - polyp shape more...
Can anyone ID this for me thought it was a cynaria when I bought it but even with constant googling I can’t find the exact species I thought I found it was called Australian yellow but can’t find that again anywhere.
I bought these frags from my LFS as unknown frags, one seems to be LPS and one SPS, I would really appreciate the help so I can know what placement is best! The SPS has an almost blue striped skin under its polyps, but I know nothing about SPS so I could be wrong that it even is one but figured...
Hi, I’d just like to double check if these two frags are Anacropora. It was sold to me as Montipora Spongodes but recently I realised that both actually resemble Anacropora.
