Hi all, recently set up my new tank using caribsea life rock and broken up established live rock. I currently have a phosphate reading of 0.24ppm. Could phosphate be leaching from the life rock?
I’ve added around 70g of rowaphos but it doesn’t seem to be lowering.
Thanks!
Hi all, my tank is 3 months old and I have made the decision to cycle some Caribsea life rock away from my main display which is eventually going to replace existing rock in my tank, as I believe my crazy high phosphate levels of 0.21ppm are being caused by leaching phosphate from the rock that...
Hey guys new tank set up here, i got a Waterbox 15 peninsula. So far the water has been cycling for 3 days straight, i have had a couple days already where i had to add some water because the pump was running dry. I am assuming that it is evaporating? either way the water is staying clear and...

As a newbie here I researched and decided I needed live rock to put into my aquarium. I go the aquarium store and buy ‘Caribsea live rock’. I did wonder how it could be alive without being in water but I just assumed it lay dormant or something lol.
Went to a better aquarium store and quickly...
Decided to turn one of my fluval evo 13.5 gallon tanks into a nano anemone tank. Replaced the rocks with new caribsea liferock, as I wanted to rescape, but kept the fiji pink sand. Tank has a Sicce synchra silent return pump. Next upgrade will be to replace the stock light and lid with a Kraken...
Which of these 4 different brands of branch rock do you guys feel looks maybe the most natural or interesting/cool if going for a natural looking mixed reef tank? Trying to decide which I like best and am having an incredibly hard time deciding. My tank will be scaped with a mixture of dried out...
Hello everyone. Off the bat I am new to the hobby but have been doing research on different sites to learn before getting into the hobby. Now it's been 2 weeks now since we set up our waterbox 65.4 tank. We tried the fishless cycle using Dr Tims. In our tank we used caribsea live sand special...
So I was looking at the carib sea moani "dry live rock" stuff for my tank and I kind of like it. My only concern would be that "dry live rock" like pukani etc. from what I've heard can leech a lot of organics, nitrogen and phosphorus into the tank. I was just wondering if anyone has used this...
So the wife and I got ourselves a Christmas present tank upgrading from the IM 30L! We are getting the Red Sea Reefer XXL 625. In our old house we had a Red Sea 450 before it was retired which happens to be the same length as the new one but not as deep or tall. We are getting it delivered in...
Hello, R2R!
We invite you to come check out our newest mini series, featuring our friends at ORA.
In this episode, we will be taking a look at how these fish are captive-bred and raised, from egg to your aquarium!
Now that we have transferred the contents of the original ORA® Build into...
I’ve got a 200 gallon peninsula build I’m planning to transfer my existing Reefer 350 into. The BRS videos sold me on Caribsea Ocean Direct sand as I wasn’t a super fan of my current sand and I liked the idea of hopefully bringing in the bacteria from the direct ocean sand. Unfortunately, the...
I found this black stuff on a new piece of CaribSea South Sea Base Rock (it came out of the box a few days ago and has never entered my aquarium). It does not scrub off and appears to be encrusted on the rock. Should I worry about it?
CaribSea Oolite, looks amazing before the equipment is turned on, but not so much after. I'm sure it would be amazing for low flow systems, but please learn from my mistake and don't even try it with anything else. The video below is right after turning on the two MP40s at 20%. Their mounted...
Hello all, wanted to post some progress photos. Finally got everything so I could start building. This is my first time doing a nano and so far its alot of fun. I used Marco Rocks because I wanted to try something different and plan on making this a no hitchiker/no ich tank. Say what you will...
Greetings fellow Reefers,
Looking to trade a zoa covered arch rock. Adjacent rock to the left as well. I’m looking to trade for nice torches. I have never shipped and this would be too big anyway. So pickup only please. I live in Asheville, NC.
Hello Fellow reefers,
Has anyone used the Brightwell Start XLM bacteria to cycle their aquarium while having new Caribsea Life rocks in the aquarium? This aquarium is running with Caribsea dry sand and Caribsea Life rocks. I have been reading the label on the Brightwell Start XLM stating "Dry...
Hello,
A month ago I bought the CaribSea Life Rock, the reason was because I started a nano reef with black sand and wanted something that doesn't look full white with that sand (which I remove later on).
I needed something that look natural right away and I feel they did a good on how they...
Hello,
I bought a bag of caribsea black sand Hawaiian for my nano project and I wanted to show you what it look like, I haven't seen anyone making a comparison like this so I hope this will give you an idea.
I'm currently waiting for a ICP test and once I receive it I will publish the results...

Hey Everyone!
After a five year hiatus I am back with my new Red Sea Max E-170 and I am super excited! Over the weekend I assembled all the parts. Today my final shipments are coming in (chiller, heater, live sand, etc.) and I am super stoked to finally get some water in my beautiful tank...
