Introduction:
Hello everybody! I’m Jose Luis Morejon Vitali. You probably know me as my Instagram account, Jm_reefer. I'm a 29-year-old Italian guy. I have had a passion for aquariums since I was young since my father and I managed a freshwater tank together for 15 years. In 2019 I decided to switch to Marine tanks and the first one was installed in May 2021. So this tank is around 2 years old. It’s a total system of 470L or 125G. The tank is managed and controlled by GHL’s Profilux P4; it is equipped in sump with: a skimmer by Ultrareef Akula 200, a Uv light of 18W, CO2 Scrubber by Reeftek, chaeto reactor by Reeftek, Sicce Syncra 9.0. In the tank, I have 4 Nero 5 pumps by Aqua Illumination, and for lights a Hybrid solution by AquaticLife with 3 Radions G6 XR30 Blue and 4 T5 Blue Plus by ATI on a custom stand light by Reeftek.

What salt mix do you use?
I use Modern Reef keeping system reef salt as I manage all my tanks with this line.
What kind of rock did you start with?
50kg of Indonesian live rocks
What is your substrate? Live sand by caribsea
Calcium/Alkalinity/Magnesium Summary and Objectives: I dose all the elements and trace elements with the Proportional Consumption Reef Keeping System by Modern Reef. It's a system that uses 4 canisters to integrate daily all the things that the tank needs.
What and how do you dose for the big 3 (alk/cal/mag)? I dose with 4 element canisters by Modern Reef which is full of trace elements, amminos apart kh,ca,mg
Are you dosing anything else for your reef health (carbon dosing, aminos, etc.)?
I feed my corals with Polypop and Complete Reef Foods which are two products by Modern Reef to feed the corals and the tank. And I daily dose live Phytoplankton from Algae Spirulina by Planctontech.
Lighting Summary and Objectives: I have a hybrid system by AquaticLife that allows me to install 3 Radion G6 XR30 Blues by Ecotech Marine and 4 T5s (I use the ATI Blue Plus bulbs) all installed in a custom bridge made by Reeftek.

I also run a UV lamp 22h/day 7/7, i have a CO2 scrubber made by Reeftek, connected to my skimmer to maintain a higher pH.
What is your export strategy? I have a chaeto reactor made by Reeftek to get high pH and to help export nutrients.

Fish and Coral Feeding: I feed fishes with Ocean Nutrition frozen food like Mysis, Artemia, Formula One, Formula Two, Formula Angel. I do a mix of mysis and artemia one day and mix of Formulas other day. In the morning they eat pellets and flakes by Ocean Nutrition Formula One and Two. For corals I feed with Polypop and Complete Reef Food daily and twice a week with LPS and SPS color and Growth by Modern Reef. For corals I feed also with live phytoplankton of algae Spirulina daily and Blue gold and extract of Algae Spirulina by Planctontech.
How did you decide what to keep in your tank? I studied a lot before getting into this hobby, and since then, I make my decisions about what I can keep or not.
Anything you wish you could keep, but haven't added? I would love to have a ray, but I need a bigger tank for it.
Any fish, invert, or coral you will NEVER keep? I love all of them.
What do you love most about the hobby? What I love most is that it’s the whole world of the sea and different types of creatures existing in it.
How long have you been doing this? I’ve been in the marine world for 5 years.
Who was responsible for getting you into the hobby? My father was. When I was a child, he showed me a lot of books and documentaries that made me love this world.
Who or what in the hobby most influences/inspires you? My Family that always gives me feedback and suggestions on this hobby.
If you could have any tank, what size would it be and why? I would have a bigger tank one day like 1500l-2000l.

Favorite invert? Shrimps
How do you typically get over setbacks? Studying the issue and where it came from, then try to solve it.
I believe that in every challenge faced, it’s important to solve it in the best natural way before using any chemical products.
What are your future plans for improvement/upgrade of the tank? The tank is mostly done. Probably some more particular corals.
Any special tips for success or advice you'd like to share with other reefers? The best way to maintain your reef is to find your line of parameter values and maintain them as stable as possible.
Final Thoughts? The best advice that I can give is to start this hobby with good technical equipment, of good quality and also a good RODI System since that is the base of our tanks. For parameters, I suggest that you follow your line but try to keep it as stable as possible. The pH is also an important value to consider for all the benefits that it can give to your tanks.
